A 2.5-hour evening walk through the lit-up temple town, with a local who photographs and films you as you go. The next day you receive 30 to 40 finished photos and a short film of your night.
Most photo tours hand you stills. You get those, plus a 90-second edited film with music, in the orientation you choose: vertical for your phone, or landscape for the big screen.
By 7:30 PM the day-trippers are gone. Nakamise's shutters are down and the painted panels behind them are lit. The temple grounds are almost yours.
Photos colour-corrected, film edited, download link in your inbox the following day. No waiting a week.
Six stops, 1.8 km, all on foot and all on open streets and temple grounds. We stop to shoot at each one, then move on together.

You get a reply with the meeting details and a secure payment link (card, via Stripe).
Full refund up to 24 hours before we meet. See terms.
Prefer to book through a platform? Asakusa After Dark is also listed on GetYourGuide and Viator. Prices are the same.
2.5 hours on foot, about 1.8 km, mostly flat, at an easy pace. Some paving is uneven and a few stretches are dimly lit, so we take those slowly. There are steps along the way and nowhere to sit, so this isn't the right evening for anyone who can't manage 2.5 hours on their feet.
Rain is not a cancellation. Wet stone and paper lanterns photograph beautifully, and umbrellas are provided. Genuinely unsafe weather (typhoon, lightning, heavy snow) is different: we call it off at least 2 hours before and you choose a full refund or another date.
No. Everything is shot on our equipment. Bring your phone if you like; we're happy to take a few on it too.
Yes. Say so when you book or on the night and we shoot stills only. The price doesn't change.
The same route as an audio and video guide you follow on your own phone, for evenings when the guided walk is full or you'd rather go at your own pace. Details here.
