These terms apply to bookings made directly with Walk with Kei. If you booked through GetYourGuide, Viator or another platform, that platform's cancellation terms are the ones that apply to your booking.
Asakusa After Dark is a private guided walk of about 2.5 hours in Asakusa, Tokyo, for 1 to 4 guests, conducted in English. It includes photography and filming of your group during the walk, and delivery of 30 to 40 colour-corrected photographs and one edited short film (approximately 90 seconds) the following day. Optional extras (extended film, all photos) are as described at the time of booking.
A booking is confirmed when payment has been received through the payment link we send you. Prices are in Japanese yen and include consumption tax where applicable. Payment is by credit or debit card, processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.
| You cancel more than 24 hours before the start | Full refund |
|---|---|
| You cancel within 24 hours, or don't show up | No refund |
| Unsafe weather (typhoon, lightning, heavy snow, earthquake aftermath) | We decide and tell you at least 2 hours before the start. Your choice: full refund or another date. |
| Ordinary rain | The walk goes ahead. Umbrellas are provided. |
| The guide is unwell or unable to run the walk | We tell you as soon as we know. Your choice: full refund or another date. |
Refunds are returned to the card you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 business days depending on your card issuer.
We photograph and film you during the walk and record sound as well as picture, so voices may be part of the film. If you would rather not be filmed or recorded, tell us when you book or on the night: we then shoot stills only, and the price does not change.
Your photos and film are for your personal use. You may share them anywhere you like.
We will only use your photographs or film to show other travellers what the evening is like if you have told us in writing that this is fine. Saying no changes nothing about your booking.
Photos and film are delivered the next day by download link. The link stays live for 7 days. We keep the original footage for 90 days so that we can re-send it if you miss the link; after 90 days it is deleted. Once you have downloaded your files, copies on your own devices are yours to keep or delete.
The walk is on public streets and temple grounds, about 1.8 km, with some uneven paving, steps and dimly lit stretches. Please wear comfortable shoes, keep your belongings with you, and follow the guide's directions at road crossings and in crowded areas. Tell us before the walk about any medical condition or mobility concern we should know about; we keep this confidential and pass it on only to emergency services if we must.
Please make sure your travel insurance covers medical treatment and accidents in Japan.
[PLACEHOLDER: insert after liability cover begins (expected 2026-10-15): "Walk with Kei carries liability insurance for injury or damage caused by the guide."]
If we cannot deliver what you paid for because of something on our side (for example a camera failure or files we cannot recover), we will tell you straight away and refund you, up to the full price you paid. We are not liable for costs beyond that, such as changes to your travel plans or other bookings, except where the loss is caused by our intent or gross negligence, or that of anyone working with us. Nothing in these terms limits liability for personal injury caused by our negligence.
These terms and your booking are governed by the laws of Japan.
